Wellness-Focused Hotels: A new trend in the hospitality industry


When Jason Moskal, vice president of lifestyle brands for hotel chain EVEN Hotels, spoke to guests, he began to realize a need that the hospitality industry hadn't completely met, according to a Business Insider Travel column article. It is a “wellness culture” and travelers are willing to pay a premium to maintain their healthy lifestyle, but there should also be options for travelers at a lower price-point.

The hospitality industry has taken notice that people want to maintain their health regimens while traveling for business or leisure. Wellness tourism has grown by 14 percent over the last two years alone, and global wellness growth as a niche is set to grow by another 17 percent in the next five years

Hotels are not just remodeling existing fitness centers located in the nether regions of the hotel. Large hotel corporations are developing mid-priced, wellness-focused hotels that promote a holistic experience with rooms outfitted with fitness equipment, group workouts, and healthy food options.
